3 Powerful Words to Help Each Other in Challenging Times
We all have ups and downs, good seasons and rough ones.
I’ve heard this year has been a tough one for many, including myself.
I’ve been dealing with health complications, family struggles, business setbacks, relationship challenges, and the heart-wrenching reality that a loved one is nearing life’s end far too soon – the weight of these trials can sometimes feel insurmountable.
I’m all for the resilience, strength and courage we’ve tirelessly built, but at times it can seem insufficient against the relentless tide of ongoing challenges.
No matter what we do, sometimes life is just really hard.
Amidst the chaos and pain – three words that a friend offered made all the difference.
“I am here,” she said.
True support of another requires presence over pure problem solving.
Three modest words that didn’t really change anything, but somehow gave me enough courage to take the next step. The words simultaneously acknowledged the hardship, joined me in it for a moment, and were there to face it with me, together.
Someone being there for us – without pretense or pressure – can be the very thing that helps us move forward.
If you’re going through it right now, remember you’re not alone.
And if you’re in a position to lend support, never underestimate the power of offering those three simple words to someone going through it.
I am here.
We’ll get through it, together

7moSterling Hawkins - in the Takeaway that you offer around supporting people, if you can, it reminds me of something I learned as a young Boy Scout… And I know I'm really dating myself here… But the Boy Scouts of America were an incredible organization, and one of their slogans was "Do a good turn daily"....the other one one was: " a scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent" - yes I grew up with these ideals and boundaries… Wish there was something in today's world that offered the same but grateful that you are emphasizing many of these in your teachings… I think if we all did, we'd have a better planet.

7moI think about this often and so many times “it will be ok” may not be true and “I am here” is much better!!
