3 Work Trends - Issue 31
India's higher education excellence, AI's role in recruitment, and retirement savings running out – these are the stories covered in this issue of the World Economic Forum’s 3 Work Trends newsletter, your guide to the future of work and education in an ever-changing world.
1. India's #universities lead the way in #sustainable development
Globally, India is the best-represented nation in the 2024 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings.
The ranking assesses universities' contributions to each of the 17 United Nations SDGs.
In particular, India demonstrates world leadership for SDG 7, which calls for "affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all" by 2030.
The nation also has the world's number one university for SDG 3, relating to good health and well-being, in JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research .
"The main characteristic of Indian higher education in the past several decades has been expansion, which continues today. India now has the world's second-largest higher education system after China", says Philip Altbach, one of the world’s leading experts on global higher education.
