5 Books to read this summer
Covid is almost gone and little by little we are back to a new "life as usual". Personally, this lockdown I have been among books most of the time with some unexpected jewels and a great development on statistics and nearby future (spoiler alert, nothing new on the subject from my college days).
- How to fail at almost everything and still win big. easy reading and fresh realization of a normal guy who get credit and fame on their passion but fails in almost any other thing he tried before, during and after his success. A boost for our lives.
- Bare. A guide to brutally honest public speaking. Public speaking is always on my readings and this lockdown have brought a clear need of communication, effective communication. Francisco Mahfuz is a terrific keynote speaker and his first book is a leverage for your content and your stage fright.
- The Plague. An Albert Camus classic book based on an outbreak in Oran. Fear, isolation and claustrophobia follow as they are forced into quarantine, sounds familiar?
- Inside Bill's Brain. As a wise man once said: "it's good to learn from your mistakes, but it's even better to learn from other people's mistakes". Good biographies are terrific source on others' failures and joined to new mini-documental tv series we can easily in-first-person-access to that knowledge. On this category I encourage to watch Bill Gates' mini-documental series, Inside Bill's Brain
- The physician. Pandemic outbreaks are only a small part of all the health challenges anyone should be faced on during middle ages. Science, religion, society silos and lockdowns. we faced more difficult challenges than Covid and we have strived until today, if you want to know how, do not miss this book.
I hope you find interesting my recommendations and tell me yours for this summer.
