5 Powerful Practices to Achieve Your Online Business Goals and Succeed

Transform Your Solo Venture into a Thriving Digital Empire

We are just beginning the year, and most of the excitement and energy about the New Year have already worn off.

It is most visible in the gyms where, after massive sign-up increases, some people do not even bother to turn up. Some people will attend the gym, but only the regulars exercise by mid-February.

And guess who will hit their fitness goals?

The same applies to online business. You need to practice your business muscles. And do certain things repetitively without seeing much progress at the very beginning.

Building an online venture is a marathon. But if you can turn up every day at school and then at work for years doing things you dislike, you can start and build something meaningful in your life.

I will share five practices to help you succeed and smash your online business goals this year and beyond.

Create more than you consume

The only place you really live in is your mind. And what you consume will determine the outcome.

I love reading books and watching online courses. I spent a lot of money on online courses and never regretted it.

The books that made the most impression on me last year were “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle and “Eat That Frog” by Brian Tracy. I recommend both of them.

But do not get into the constant consuming loop by watching for hours some courses and reading books. It is very easy to get sucked into that mode, and instead of getting things done, you consume and consume.

A better approach is to focus solely on your priorities and get things done according to your goals and daily activities. How?

  • Work in 90-day cycles
  • Focus on your goals
  • Remove distractions
  • Delegate a minimum amount of the work measured in results every day (for example, ten social media posts, one blog post, or one newsletter)
  • Say no to everything that is not associated with your long-term goals (including hanging out with people who do not move your business forward)

Nathan Barry (the creator of Convert Kit) wrote 1K words per day for over 600 days at the beinging of his online venture. And now he makes about $40 million per year.

There will be challenging days when you achieve only 60 %, 40 %, or 20 % of what you planned, but as long as you are consistent and stick to your plan and actions, you will move forward. Even a slow progress is a progress.

Do whatever you have to do to achieve your goals. It will be uncomfortable at times. Nothing worth pursuing is born in a comfort zone.

Build an email list

An email list is the most important asset of your business. There are no sustainable businesses without an email list.

There are many advantages of growing an email list:

  • Direct communication. An email list allows for more personalized interactions based on their actions and buying behavior (prospects, clinets).
  • Measurable Analytics: You can measure essential consumer behavior data like open rates, click-through rates, and device use. That information helps you make a database decision without guessing.
  • A cost-effective way to reach potential consumers and offer a high ROI (return on investment).
  • Ownership and control. It removes dependence on ever-changing algorithms and social media platforms.
  • Increased Engagement and Conversion: A good quality email list composed of engaged subscribers has more engagement. That leads to improved conversion rates and better awareness of your products, services, and brand.

Nurture the relationship with your audience by writing an engaging newsletter. Many successful businesses are based on newsletters. There are multiple ways of monetizing the newsletter:

  • sponsorship
  • newsletter ads
  • affiliate marketing
  • sponsored content
  • selling digital products
  • paid subscription plan

It was quite a challenge when I started building an email list and discovered a few game-changing tactics. I’ve detailed these steps in my eBook, Unlock 24/7 Growth’, to help you make your list quickly.

Create digital products

Digital products are assets in your digital business. They have so many benefits:

  • High leverage. They are available on the Internet 24/7, and most transactions are automated. They sell multiple times without additional costs.
  • Low overhead costs. They are very cost-effective compared to physical products. And they have teh highest profit margins.
  • Convenience for customers. They are accessible to customers anywhere and do not have physical barriers and shipping costs.
  • High flexibility and control. You can continually improve your digital products and upgrade them.
  • Unlimited stock and product types. They do not have any of teh physical product constraints, allowing an unlimited stock and diversified product range.

They are also reasonably easy to create (courses can be time-consuming). Research and testing are also crucial to making any digital product. But once it is done, you can sell it in unlimited amounts.

Automate

Automation is game-changing for any business, but especially for solopreneurs ( a one-person business). It is about smart strategies that work tirelessly for you, even when you sleep.

It is hard even to imagine any serious solopreneur without automation, as it offers multiple benefits:

  • Automated Welcomes: Imagine a system that greets every new lead precisely, every time, without you having to lift a finger.
  • Focus on What Matters: After the initial engagement, you may focus on the creative aspects of your business. Think about fresh content, products, and big ideas.
  • Growth on Autopilot: This is more than simply saving time; it’s building the groundwork for your business to thrive on its own.

There are many ways you can automate your business. It can be a social media posting, lead generation, welcome email sequences, and selling your products.

You will stay behind your competitors if you do not implement automation in your venture. It can be slightly overwhelming, but anybody can do it with guidance.

Walk everyday

I can see you rolling your eyes and thinking, has he gone completely mad? Not yet (haha); on the contrary, this is one of the best business and health advice you will ever get.

I walk for at least an hour daily and experience this practice's benefits.

First, I get some of the best products and content ideas when I walk. And record them instantly using Otter AI on the phone app. Otherwise, I would lose them.

Secondly, it clears my mind, removes mental blocks, and unlocks creative flow. And it does not work only for writers; it works for anyone in any business or niche.

The mother nature did not design us to sit at the desk for 8 hours or more. It is a relic of the Industrial Revolution. Sitting in a cubicle for 8 hours harms your physical and mental health.

Foremost, you need to move around—your body and mind. The only permanent thing in life is constant changes and development.

Conclusion

As a solopreneur, you must wear many hats and be challenged many times on your journey. Focus your attention on what moves the needle and remove everything else.

The most powerful practices that will help you to grow your business are:

  • Create more than you consume. Learning is essential in your entrepreneurial journey, but you must create more than consume. Sometimes, you will need to learn a lot, depending on your experience. But remember that you need to write and create more than you consume to succeed in any business.
  • Build an email list. This is the most critical asset of any business. So you need to know how to do it.
  • Create digital products. Take advantage of the digital economy and create digital products. They have the highest leverage and will help you grow your value and grow on the market.
  • Automate. It is about implementing smart strategies that work tirelessly for you. And help you grow 24/7.
  • Walk every day. That will benefit your business and your mental and physical health. Don’t forget to record your great business and content ideas. I use Otter AI.

It can be overwhelming at times but do things step by step and congratulate yourself on every achievement. You will make many mistakes, but this is part of the game.

Just keep on going.

Your strategy using Otter AI to record ideas while walking is brilliant, Jerry Keszka! I knew that walking is good for me, but I have not captured thoughts that come while walking. Also, I have not been walking nearly an hour at a time. Thanks for the inspiration.
