5 Steps To Transform Your Body After The Military

5 Steps To Transform Your Body After The Military

The launch into "civi" street can feel like you have been hit by a submarine!

Confused, not knowing what your doing or where you are going.

It's easy to let bad habits creep in as apart of your survival mode.

At some stage you might find yourself looking in the mirror and thinking " what the actual fu*k"

So here are some time sensitive, simple stupid action steps to get you back feeling and looking good!

Step 1: Focus on Habit Goals

Goal-setting is the cornerstone of any successful transformation.

But we can often get overwhelmed by the how!

Especially as there is so much BS out there that can halt you from taking action.

By focusing on the small daily actions that you know you need to take, it elevates the overwhelm.

Just make sure these daily missions are achievable and don’t cause you more stress!

Step 2: Leverage Your Military Mindset

Your time in the military has instilled in you a unique set of values and qualities, such as discipline, determination, and a strong work ethic.

Channel these attributes towards your fitness goals.

Create a structured training regimen, adhere to a diet that is 80% strict and 10% fun, and maintain a consistent sleep schedule.

Approach your fitness journey with the same level of dedication that you applied during your military service.

But remember, it doesn’t have to be a 2 hour thrashing. Just maintain an exercise regime you can stick to!

Step 3: Incorporate Functional Training

Functional training focuses on movements that mimic real-life activities, enhancing your ability to perform everyday tasks with ease.

Given your military background, you already possess a foundation in functional fitness.

Build on this by incorporating exercises like bodyweight movements, kettlebell training, and functional strength drills into your workout routine.

This approach not only promotes overall strength but also improves your agility, coordination, and resilience.

Step 4: Prioritize Recovery and Nutrition

Recovery is just as important as exercise.

Make sure to allocate sufficient time for rest, allowing your body to repair and grow stronger.

Pay attention to your nutrition, aiming for a balanced diet rich in lean proteins, complex carbohydrates, and essential fats.

Consider consulting with a nutritionist or dietitian to tailor your dietary needs to your specific fitness goals.

Step 5: Seek Community and Support

Transitioning from the military can sometimes feel isolating, but you're not alone.

Seek out a community of like-minded individuals who share your fitness goals. Joining a local fitness group, participating in sports leagues, or attending group classes can provide a sense of camaraderie and support.

That’s one of the reasons why I made the Veterans Health Academy! It brings all my 1-2-1 clients together.

Following these 5 Steps is a good starting place to achieving an awesome fitness regime.

The overall determinate factor of success is being consistent.

So no matter what you do, make sure you can stick with it.
