5 Ways To Generate Leads From Your Content Marketing!

Want to know what techniques we recommend using to generate leads and enquiries online?

Over the past 6 weeks, our team of Ninja's have been evaluating all the different ways in which we help clients generate new prospects through their content.

In this article I will break each of them down, explaining exactly why they work so well:

1. Explainer videos

Looking at stats over 1/3 of a users time online is spent watching videos. It's no shock that people are more connected when they can both see and hear you, so video makes total sense.

What we have found is that people are much more likely to engage with your product or service if there is a video explaining how it works and the benefit it adds to their lives.

Video not only makes it easier for your customer to make a purchasing decision, but it also keeps you at the front of mind whenever the problem your product/service solves comes up in conversation.

Here are our top tips for your explainer videos:

  • Keep them short and simple. Under 60 seconds is the target.
  • Get to the point and highlight why your target market should care right at the beginning.
  • Make sure it has a clear call to action.

2. Email nurture campaigns

According to a number of different sources online only 7% of SME's use email as a brand-building tool. As an agency, we dedicate the time to construct nurture campaigns to drive leads throughout a content campaign.

We strongly believe from the results we are seeing that there is a huge opportunity to build brand awareness for your business which in turn will help to drive prospects to your pipeline.

By carrying campaigns that nurture people through the pipeline process, you'll be able to present numerous calls to action which are designed to qualify/disqualify your prospect in the most efficient manner.

For us email isn't an option, it's a must for any business looking to make its pipeline as clean and efficient as possible. We see so many companies with what they believe is a full pipeline, but when you dive into the data, it's full of leads that should have been removed a long time ago. People who will never buy, who aren't the right fit, and in essence are just totally useless.

With our email nurturing campaigns we are able to identify the prospects that we need to speak to when the moment is right.

Here are our top tips for your campaigns:

  • For each email, ask yourself what is it that you want your customer to do & feel?
  • Use templates from campaigns that have already succeeded.
  • Make sure with each email you have a clear call to action for your reader to take.

3. Social media competitions

We are seeing more and more of these competitions online, but it still doesn't reduce their power.

They in fact offer a great opportunity to capture the data of your ideal customer.

Offer them something shareable as a prize and you'll also see an increase in your overall brand reach as well.

We've given away branded apparel, tickets to events, access to courses. The sky is the limit with strategy.

Here are our top tips for social media competitions:

  • Make it really easy for someone to enter the competition (think content sharing, following, tagging, anything that is commonly known on these platforms).
  • To generate leads make sure you have the capability of capturing the entrant's data. We can then use that for retargeting and nurturing later on down the line.
  • Make the prize something desirable, make it valuable that people will want to win.

4. How-to guides

Just like the explainer videos, how-to guides give you the ability to build trust with your target market. They showcase your knowledge and why they should choose to work with you.

Content depth is extremely important in today's world. Get this right and we find that you're 3x more likely to generate repeat business.

Here are our top tips for how-to guides:

  • Make sure the design of your guide catches ATTENTION. Make it eye-catching.
  • Make sure it's easy to understand, don't use abbreviations, write it so a person with little to no knowledge can understand it.
  • Make sure your guide is easy to download. Store it directly on a landing page with a simple data capture element in play.

5. Webinars

As always I look to save my favourite till the end. Purchase-driven webinars with a front-end masterclass element have always been our go-to.

We get to showcase our knowledge, and also earn the right to introduce our product/services at the end of the presentation.

By adding value and solving a specific problem your audience is very likely to receive your message willingly.

Plus, you'll be able to capture their data at the point of webinar registration for retargeting and email nurturing. (Yes, you're right, the combination of these lead generation strategies is where you'll start to thrive).

These webinars are becoming more and more popular so you need to ensure the information you are providing is attractive. Make sure your hook/headline is what people want, and then deliver!

Top tips with webinars:

  • Keep them to an hour maximum.
  • Make sure you have a hook that people actually want to bite on to.
  • Include the call to action at the end, you don't need to hard sell, simply highlight the opportunity and what people need to do to find out more information on working with you.

So there you have it, 5 ways to generate leads and enquiries from your online activity.

It wouldn't be right if I, therefore, didn't finish with my call to action, would it?

There is obviously a lot more to cover with these strategies, so if you'd like to find out more then I am running a webinar myself (I run them every month) - if you check my profile you'll see our lead generation content events available for you to register for.
