Questions:

  1. Outdated stereotypes of “masculinity” may hinder men from being better/healthier. How can we challenge unhelpful ideas in ways that don’t demonize or isolate men? Men may get defensive when they hear “masculinity is toxic.” What's a more encouraging message?
  2. What examples do you do or see in your everyday life that actively evolve masculinity (or challenge unhelpful stereotypes)? How do you shape (or see others) actively taking pride in challenging outdated stereotypes of masculinity?
  3. When someone challenges outdated stereotypes of masculinity, what message does that send? What resources are out there to help men be better men (social accounts, blogs, websites, books, podcasts …)?
  4. How can we better promote positive conceptions of manhood and masculinity? What cultural norms or shifts are needed to make manhood and masculinity better? What impact will these changes have on men's mental health?
