7 key steps of Sales Funnel

A sales funnel is the practical path how maximum customers are gained by any service or product marketing team. It helps businesses to understand and visualize their sales process and measure overall conversion success between each step of the funnel.

In this article, we will go through each step of general sales funnel.

  1. Initial Contact:

It contains first email, first call, first visit or similar way of contact to your target audience. It is important as "Helo effect" in any conversation. Its first impression with message what you are and what you can serve in very pointed information.

Also its like more number of audiences you reach who are your suspect, is going to be good raw input for sales funnel.

2. Qualification:

After reaching market, you need to qualify leads. You need to find answers to questions like - is it serious lead? does prospect has enough capacity to make purchase of your service or product?

And you need to narrow down qualified leads.


3. Develop Solution:

Always study leads which can be your future customers. Do analysis to identify problems they are facing, try to prepare solution through your services or products.

It is always good to spend time to develop value proposition for customer.

4. Presentation:

Prepare a sales presentation. It might have just verbal speech or slides or any suitable mechanism.

I knew business sales people who really do several times of rehearsals of new presentation they are preparing for. Perfect and precise presentation will going to be winning edge.

5. Evaluation

It is always going to be that customer will raise few concerns about your services or product. You should always study all possible objections and their solutions before meeting customer. It will be helpful in this step.

6. Negotiation

Bargaining is one of skill most of customers do have. You should always be prepared with best which you can offer to them. This is stage where customer will try to negotiate on pricing or more features in product for same price or more volume of service with same price. There are multiple combinations you need to study.


7. Closing

Finally if everything is gone well, you need to close the deal with contract signed by customer or similar way of closure.

And here you go! You have done through all steps to get this a glass of juice!
