Too Much Noise ~ Listen Your Voice
One day, as a small child, Thomas Edison came home from school and gave a paper to his mother. He said to her “Mom, my teacher gave this paper to me and told me only you are to read it. What does it say?”
Her eyes welled with tears as she read the letter out loud to her child…
“Your son is a genius. This school is too small for him and doesn’t have good enough teachers to train him. Please teach him yourself.”
Many years after Edison’s mother had died, he became one of the greatest inventors of the century.
One day he was going through a closet and he found the folded letter that his old teacher wrote his Mother that day. He opened it…
The message written on the letter was “Your son is mentally deficient. We cannot let him attend our school anymore. He is expelled.”
Edison became emotional reading it and then wrote in his diary:
“Thomas A. Edison was a mentally deficient child whose mother turned him into the genius of the Century.”
Remember, a positive word of encouragement can help change anyone’s destiny.
When you start something different which you feel, see, sense, knew and desire to create exception in your and others life, there is always a NOISE generated. It is fact that someone start to do something which is out of regular lifestyle or comfort zone, it makes many uncomfortable.
Noise source can be from your new competitors in field, your family, your colleagues, your friend circle and many others. Many will feel you have taken something out of track decision, which is not good. There is nothing wrong in their opinion, it might be love or care behind their words. For all these surrounding, I term it as noise.
For an entrepreneur, it is same thing. If you are into this journey, you will face various things which I say noise around you.
Below are 5 tips from my experience and observations to overcome such noise.
1. Always spend few minutes in a day to see your vision ahead
2. Understand difference between noise and positive inputs towards your vision
3. Never underestimate anyone even someone who did negative comments on your path
4. Don't forget to smile for everything around and fill fully with gratitude
5. Meditate and listen within...!
Remember, noise can be translated into below meaning with key 5 tips from me.
N = Needs which you feel to come out of your comforts
O = Opportunities you see around
I = Improvements you sense can be done
S = Strengths which you knew within
E = Exceptions you can create

4yThank you for this valuable lesson. Three essential aspects to note, here in addition to what we learned through this story of comforting the child and thus to allow great advance... 1- school quite often is not the ideal place to form a child and develope his capacities. Many later called Geniuses needed time to evolve and were discriminated at time of young age. 2- teachers only teach from their point of perception, I have seen drastic examples of mediocre teachers who did their job, and of teachers who dramatically changed my life in a positive and powerful way. 3- to classify a child at a certain age as " non capable" is a grave mistake, and foremost shows in first place the incapacity of the teacher to discover fertile ground and to develope immense future breakthroughs
