1. A Proven Practitioner Model for Real-World Impact

One of the core differentiators of our program is the proprietary EASIER team coaching model, which guides participants through the full lifecycle of team coaching. Unlike other models that focus only on the theoretical aspects, EASIER immerses students in real-world scenarios. From establishing engagement with a team to evaluating tangible results, the model provides a structured yet flexible framework for navigating the complexities of group dynamics.

By expanding their skill set from 1:1 leadership coaching to working with multiple team members, participants develop a broader coaching presence. This not only strengthens their professional capabilities but also delivers deeper, sustained engagement for the teams they coach. Upon completion, participants leave with the structure and confidence to take on a complete team coaching engagement—from start to finish—establishing themselves as leaders in their field. In the video below, Erin Hutchins, Co-Founder of ACT Leadership and Ashley Abbott, Academic Director and Senior Faculty of ACT Leadership explain how, on the ACT Leadership and Brown University Team Coaching Program, 1:1 coaches learn how to move beyond working with the individuals of the team in order to work with the team as a whole.

2. Video Case Studies for Deep Learning

A unique feature of our program is the 4-hour series of case study videos that role-plays the entire EASIER model in action. Participants are able to witness firsthand how a team and its leader navigate the team coaching process. Different team coaches demonstrate a range of techniques and approaches, bringing the theoretical framework to life in a way that helps participants gain a deeper understanding of the intricacies involved.

These video case studies provide an invaluable opportunity for students to observe practical applications of the model and gain the confidence needed to apply these concepts in their own coaching practice. This real-world simulation prepares participants for a range of challenges and opportunities they may encounter when working with teams in the future.

3. Hands-On Learning Through Real Client Engagements

Theory without practice only gets you so far, and that’s why our program emphasizes hands-on learning. Between the two training modules, participants are required to coach a real team, either within their organization or community, in partnership with a fellow student. This practical experience is invaluable for navigating the complex dynamics that come with team coaching, and students gain firsthand insights into the challenges they’ll face as team coaches.

The collaborative approach also fosters peer learning. Students come together to share their experiences, swap insights, and refine their approaches based on peer and faculty feedback.

"When you join the ACT Program, one of the things you can count on is having a safe environment. What this means is, you're going to co-create a safe environment where you're going to share your authentic self, share your ideas as well as take feedback from the rest of the class, ultimately to make you a better coach". Ted Gibson, Executive and Team Coach

This cycle of learning and reflection transforms theoretical knowledge into actionable strategies that can be applied immediately to real-world settings.

4. Real-Time, On-Demand Learning for Teams

Our program introduces the “Train the Team” model—a flexible, in-the-moment approach to learning that allows team coaching to happen during actual team meetings. Participants learn to observe team dynamics in real-time, using coaching techniques to intervene at just the right moments. This ensures that learning is embedded into the team’s workflow, making it immediately relevant and actionable.

This hands-on, in-situ approach also prepares participants to guide teams through difficult conversations, including how to foster “creative conflict” without allowing reactive behaviors to derail progress. Instead of relying on supplementary training sessions, this model enables teams to build new skills during the natural course of their interactions, leading to more cohesive, high-functioning teams.

5. Ongoing Support and Community for Lifelong Learning

The learning doesn’t stop after certification. Our alumni gain access to a vibrant, supportive community where they can continue their professional development through regular webinars, office hours, and experiential learning opportunities.

With a cutting-edge online platform and an array of ongoing events, participants are able to remain at the forefront of the ever-evolving coaching field. This commitment to lifelong learning ensures that our graduates continue to refine their skills, stay connected to a network of fellow professionals, and maintain their competitive edge in the coaching industry.

"This program is challenging and insightful. It enables you to explore concepts around team building/development while offering structure, specific skills and techniques, and the opportunity to practice them in a safe and smart environment”. Don Brezinski, ACT/Brown Team Coaching Alumnus
