It's crucial to understand that Obesity rates have reached alarming levels all around the world.

Obesity is defined based on Body Mass Index (BMI), which is calculated by dividing a person's weight in kilograms by the square of their height in metres.

Obesity occurs when a person's BMI is 30 or above and it is a major risk factor for chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and cancers!!

Did you know that according to the WHO, obesity has nearly tripled since 1975??

In 2020, nearly 40% of adults worldwide were overweight, and over 13% were obese !

This highlights the urgent need for active preventative measures.


Prevention Begins with Education 

Education plays a vital role in obesity prevention.

Obese children are at a higher risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, a condition where the body becomes resistant to insulin which causes blood sugar levels to become too high.

Obesity is associated with numerous health risks including heart diseases, cancers, osteoarthritis, and most commonly Diabetes. Therefore, preventing obesity should be of utmost priority in our lives.

Regular physical activity is the key to maintaining healthy weight and reducing the risk of obesity.
