Advancing Regional Cooperation on Migration Governance

Advancing Regional Cooperation on Migration Governance

We are proud to share that Carolina Brea, PADF’s Chief Deputy Programs Officer and Director of Migration, represented PADF at the Metropolis Americas Summit in Washington, D.C., on December 13, 2024.

Carolina joined panelists from the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Center for Engagement and Advocacy in the Americas (CEDA) to discuss “Regional Migration Governance in the Americas: Challenges and Opportunities.” The roundtable explored how regional cooperation can enhance migration policies and practices across the Western Hemisphere.

PADF and OAS are proud to partner in leading the Technical Secretariat for the Los Angeles Declaration on Migration and Protection, fostering collaboration to improve migration governance and protection systems. Together, PADF and OAS work hand-in-hand to coordinate migration efforts and address broader challenges across the hemisphere, ensuring a rights-based and inclusive approach.

At PADF, we remain committed to promoting dignity and protection for all migrants. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these essential discussions and drive forward solutions that benefit our region.
