Advisory body on submarine cable resilience

Submarine cables carry approximately 99 per cent of international Internet traffic. A new advisory body formed by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the International Cable Protection Committee (ICPC) will promote best practices for governments and industry players to ensure timely deployment and repair of submarine cables, reduce risks of damage, and enhance the continuity of global communications.
