Africanbank redefines ‘rewards’ with Audacious Rewards

We’re still celebrating the success of our new, innovative rewards program, Audacious Rewards, which was shortlisted as a finalist in two prestigious categories at the International Loyalty Awards and won in the prestigious "Best Short-Term Loyalty Initiative" in Dubai on 24 April. The win solidifies our commitment to creating a distinctive rewards experience. We also celebrated a significant milestone for Audacious Rewards when we reached the 500 000 Audacious Rewards members mark.

Nceba Hene, Head of Loyalty and Rewards at Africanbank, recently joined DJ Fresh on the WAW podcast to discuss what distinguishes Audacious Rewards from other rewards programmes.

1) Our Audacious Rewards programme was designed with the customer in mind

South Africa has faced numerous economic challenges, including rising inflation, job losses, and increased living expenses. These factors have put significant strain on the finances of many individuals and households, making it difficult to save during tough times. The Audacious Rewards programme recognizes this; our goal is to help our customers support their budget by using Audacious Rewards points to pay for necessities like groceries (through our Grocery Benefit), data and airtime, toiletries, and more. That’s why we call it “Points that matter”.

2) Audacious Rewards is easy to use

While other rewards programmes have many criteria that consumers need to meet to earn and redeem points, all that’s required of Audacious Rewards members is to bank every day using their MyWORLD Account. Things like swiping their debit or credit card, checking their credit report, and even switching their salary to their MyWORLD Account can earn them points, which can be redeemed instantly; there’s no need to reach certain levels or milestones before points can be redeemed.

3) The programme is inclusive

Audacious Rewards extends beyond traditional points-based programmes and doesn’t restrict members from receiving benefits thorugh complicated earning requirements and levels. Our founders envisioned a bank that would democratise financial services, and Audacious Rewards embodies that vision by offering meaningful rewards and encouraging positive financial behaviour.

4) Joining is easy

Audacious Rewards is open to all customers, provided they have activated the Audacious Rewards feature on their MyWORLD Account. They can then start earning points, no matter how much money they spend.

What can you do with your Audacious Rewards points?

  • Spend with our benefit partners

Members can redeem their Audacious Rewards points at the Audacious Rewards Store for airtime, data, electricity and grocery vouchers and much more.

  • Redeem Audacious Rewards points for cash

Or, they can convert their Points into cash by logging on to their Africanbank App and selecting “redeem points” on the Audacious Rewards Store.

Audacious Rewards Day

One of the most exciting features of the Audacious Rewards is without a doubt “Audacious Rewards Day”, which takes place on the 20th of every month. On this day, the earn rate doubles on the MyWORLD Debit card and African Credit Card when making purchases. (This doesn’t include the Grocery Benefit).
