✔️ TIPS FOR THIS WEEK

#1 Czech dance festival Tanec Praha kicks off this week

The renowned contemporary dance and movement theatre festival Tanec Praha returns for its 36th edition from June 2 to 27 in Prague and over 20 Czech cities. Expect a diverse lineup featuring global artists from Africa, Iceland, Brazil, and more, alongside Czech premieres.

This year's focus on diversity explores themes like menopause, nudity, and the queer community. Don't miss family-friendly shows like Chotto Desh and Rock Me Baby for a rich cultural experience. See the Tanec Praha website for a full lineup of events.

#2 Celebrate World Bicycle Day with a scenic ride through Prague or beyond

On June 3rd, cyclists around the globe unite to celebrate World Bicycle Day, honouring cycling as both a sport and a mode of transportation. Whether you opt for a leisurely ride through Prague or a scenic route through the Czech countryside, there are endless ways to enjoy the day. Get inspired with this list of dozens of cycle routes throughout the country from Czech Tourism.

#3 Watch top Czech talent at the Canoe Slalom World Cup in Prague

The ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup will be held from June 6-9 at the Vodácký areál Praha in Troja, showcasing the Czech Republic’s prowess in canoe slalom. Two of the top three finishers in last year's men's K1 canoe slalom were Czechs: Vít Přindiš, who finished first, and Jiří Prskavec, who finished third after winning gold at the Tokyo Olympics.

#4 EU citizens: Take advantage of your right to vote

Taking place on June 7 and June 8, people in Czechia will go to the polls to vote in the European Parliament elections. EU citizens registered for temporary or permanent stay on the territory of Czechia at least 45 days prior to the elections are eligible to vote – a valid photo ID is needed.

#5 Catch some free tours and performances in public spaces

On June 7, the Night of Churches offers free tours of churches and places of worship, allowing visitors to explore usually inaccessible spaces like crypts and towers, with some sites hosting concerts and lectures. Praha Žije Hudbou (Prague Live Music) also brings vibrant street performances and cultural activities to public spaces throughout Prague from June 7-8.
