Ain't no stoppin' us

Have you ever said?

  • I’m determined to finish this time.
  • I’m determined to stick with it.
  • I’m determined to win.

And then it never happens.

I have. And it doesn’t feel good.

Sometimes we start out with great intentions to accomplish something only to never see it through.

I think most of us want instant results. Unfortunately, it usually doesn’t work that way.

On the flip side, I’m sure you have achieved some goals that you were determined to conquer.

So what was the difference? Well, the reasons aren’t always the same, but here’s a few ideas to put the odds in your favor of accomplishing whatever you want.

First, write down in complete, exhausting detail what you’re determined to achieve. Everything. Completion dates, milestones, resources needed, and most importantly what will be different when you’ve achieved what you’re going after.

Aside from the satisfaction of you having done what you said you would do, how will your life be different? Will you have more customers, be more prosperous, have a broader background, or maybe be healthier?

Next, post this in front of you where you’ll see and read it every day.

Then, record yourself saying it. Your phone recorder is fine.

Read and listen to this daily until you hit whatever you went after.

It works. I’ve done it. And it will work for you.

So here’s your Action Item and Mission, should you decide to accept it: Pick a goal. Any goal to start. Make it easy so you can see how this works. Then, get after it!

Determination to hit a goal is an essential element of success. Set yourself up with this framework and put the odds forever in your favor. I’d love to hear what you pick in the comments below.

Remember, one hand washes the other and together they get clean. Thanks for watching. Have a rewarding week. And I’ll see you next time.
