ALL TOGETHER!

As we all know, it is a difficult and uncertain time we face right now. As an industry, service, leisure and Hospitality business have had a particularly turbulent time. Many businesses have had to take a break to support social distancing and we understand this has had a significant effect on employers and employees at an individual level. It very much is a time to pull together as an industry!

As a business, we are doing as much as possible to support individuals looking for a new role while also providing engagement and insight forums as well as training and workshops. However, we are also very keen to champion some great initiatives and campaigns within the industry at the moment, businesses who are supporting employees, utilise their time and trying to give back! So please do check out the below!

GIVING!

Some of our favourite businesses have been volunteering their time and products in support to the hardworking medical workers.

• Itsu, delivering meals across London
• FeedNHS, backed by the lovely team at Leon and many other great restaurant groups
• Healthy hands: Iconic brand, Brewdog are working alongside the NHS to provide extra supplies of hand sanitiser and hands wash as are the great team at Diageo
• Hotelier Accor group and Hilton Worldwide have been opening their hotels to healthcare workers and the disadvantage
• Iconic London Hotel, Claridges is hosting NHS doctors, Nurses and keyworkers who are unable to commute home 
• Boutique pub company, Peach pubs have launched a social enterprise and response team to support the efforts in their communities 
• Pret a Manger re-opens 10 stores near hospitals and offer substantial discounts to NHS workers

 LEARNING & WELLNESS!

• To keep us all busy while we are stuck at home the lovely team at Wagamama have been attempting to teach us to cook some of their iconic recipes, Wok from home
• A new online learning platform created by UK Hospitality in partnership with CPL Learning, free to use and specially designed for the hospitality sector
• Looking for fresh and yummy ideas for home cooking? These talented chefs have shared some of their favourite recipes – will you take the challenge and make it yourself?

 KEEN TO VOLUNTEER OR DONATE? 

• Check out the volunteer opportunities at Care UK, a great business who are in need of extra hands
• Donate a meal to an NHS team member thanks to Deliveroo – look for ‘Support the NHS' in the app/website.
• In France ‘Tous unis contre le virus’ allows donations to support Medical personals, ongoing research against the virus and support to the elderly etc.

SUPPORT

• Industry charity, Hospitality Action is currently running an appeal to support workers in our sector, they would love your support
• Learning, pathway and employment Charity Springboard UK are currently running an appeal to help continue their vital work
• If you are in France and you would like to volunteer around your community ‘je veux aider’ connect people to missions available (delivering groceries; becoming a virtual teacher; help in child minding when the parents have to work; etc)

Doing our bit
