Ancient Teachings to Guide Modern Leadership
For generations, the Blackfeet people have passed down timeless wisdom on realizing our human potential through purpose, compassion, and service to others.
These teachings form the foundation for the principles of self-actualization and transcendent leadership we will explore together.
Self-actualized leaders go beyond ego and fear.
They lead not for self-gain, but to uplift others using the inner wisdom and sense of meaning revealed through Blackfeet ceremonies and rituals.
Leadership becomes about empowering people versus exercising power over them.
This journey begins within. It requires deep self-inquiry to align with your core values.
It means embracing vulnerability and cultivating humility, integrity, and compassion.
Meditation practices honed by the Blackfeet help you find calm, gain insights, and clarify your life's purpose.
By looking inward, you gain the clarity to lead outwardly with vision, creativity, and care.
Your decisions arise from a place of tranquility rather than reaction or anxiety.

1yBreathing and existing in the moment is not something our society reinforces, in our age of instant gratification and glamorized over-reactions. We had a conversation just yesterday over our monthly lunch rooted in an idea similar to this. Thank you for sharing! ❤️

1yMichele Price (she/her) - this is on point especially with the self-actualization ideology. Above all, “what is your purpose? “ Too often there’s ego, reactionary thinking, and even deep-seeded fear or insecurity. Meditative practice and practice as simple as breathing exercises help during the day when everyone has their “hair on fire.” The best practice for me personally is PAUSE. BREATHE. My mind says “pause don’t panic” or, “just shut up and listen!” :) thank you for this! Interested in more.

1yI fully agree with this vision of leadership. In our women's empowerment training program, we introduce our participants to the concept of self-actualization and present a different view of female leadership that is anchored in compassion and not in ego. Great conversation to engage in!
