Another Heroic Bereaved Mother

Orit Jihasi is another heroic mother of one of our finest who fell two days ago fighting the terrorists. Lavie Jihasi, a 19-year-old Sergeant from Hashmanaim served as a fighter in the 931st Battalion of the Nahal Brigade. His purpose in life was "to contribute to the country." The Nahal brigade is in charge of fighting terrorism in the Gaza Strip area.

She used her moment on national news with her surviving son to get a very significant message out - watch the video here.

"From my perspective the most important goal of this war, is to defeat (destroy) the Hamas inside us. We need to make sure that as a result of this war there will be unity in Israel. That when the fighting is over, we'll be in a different place. If we don't do this, I believe that I as a freshly bereaved mother who lost her son, and many other families, we'll feel like we missed the biggest opportunity."

This message for all of Israel, is the only reason I agreed to be interviewed." Orit Jihasi, mother of fallen Lavie Jihasi

A mother's heart: the day before her son's fall - she asked to pray especially for him

Like most people in the country who care about Israel, this bereaved Mom is very concerned about what will happen the day after all the fighting is over. If we will start a new reality of unity, or go back to clashing with one another. That's what she meant when she said "kill the Hamas inside us" - those poisonous divisive forces that we must learn to eradicate from our society once and for all.

We have around 100,000 soldiers coming out of Gaza now, who have experienced a completely different reality over the last two months. They've experienced what it feels like to be on the receiving end of a society, where everyone is learning how wonderful it feels to increase our capacity to care for others. And we saw Israelis (and Arab citizens too!) from all sectors pitching in - in every possible way - to support the soldiers. And they felt it over there and asked us to stick together to protect them, and not give in to the divisive forces.

Everyone in the country is aware of this upcoming challenge but no one really knows what to do about it.

How To Maintain Our Unity The Day After

It's the power of love that holds us together. Whenever we move away from that there is trouble.

But when we do focus on coming closer together, we're awakening a special force in nature - the actual force that holds all of nature. If we flow along with that force, which is all about harmony and mutual caring, instead of resisting it - we will succeed.

It's the power of love that holds us together. Whenever we move away from that there is trouble.

The power of love, is the power of connection is the power trying to attract us into its realm.

The clashes between us are only developing our minds to be against others. We need to reach a state where everyone is all for coming together, above all our differences and perspectives. We actually don't know one another's language, and don't need to know each other's language to do this one thing that the universe expects from us - to become an active part of that positive force operating on the world. We sometimes may feel that we're losing the uniqueness of ourselves by blending into the collective consciousness - this feeling is intentionally sent to us for us to overcome together.

Caring deeply about one another like we do during a crisis does not come naturally to us when things are normal.

This is actually the essence of all the worldly wisdom that we must implement in our hearts. Then all the world's abundance will open up before us, and we will see what a beautiful world we are living in.

So the bottom line is what this bereaved mother is asking - not to return to how things were in Israel on October 6th. And for that we'll all need to learn the rules of love. Because caring deeply about one another like we do during a crisis does not come naturally to us when things are normal.

Thank you Josia for your words and for sending Orit's message to the world 🙏
