Is Apple Vision Pro a revolution?

Apple demonstrates with flair that its latest product was designed with a precise marketing strategy from the outset: a deep understanding of the market, user needs, and leveraging its existing audience. Its aim is not to appeal to the general public but to specifically target early adopters. These individuals will not only spread the marketing message but also pave the way for the product's widespread popularity and variations in the years to come.

Apple has an expert understanding of the dynamics of innovation adoption. Although the Vision Pro is positioned as a premium product, it targets a specific audience: primarily, those already immersed in Apple's ecosystem for whom this AR headset will transform their routines (without disrupting them).

It's therefore unsurprising that some people are skeptical about the product and its price, since it's not intended for them... at least, not yet. The user experience with an operating system, applications, and features that meet our personal needs touches on something very personal. A part of yourself is reflected in the product's design. However, early adopters of other brands might not be immediately attracted to yours for these reasons. Yet, it's likely they won't take long to be convinced by the innovation level and user benefits of the Vision Pro, to the point where the price no longer seems like a barrier to adoption.

Innovation at the Heart of Design

What real level of innovation does Apple bring? This is a divisive issue, and the slogan "Spatial Computing" might not be entirely novel or the first of its kind, according to some critics. Yet, the product demonstration by real users is beginning to prove its innovative potential and extensive integration into everyday life. The possibility for others to see you and for you to see them significantly enriches the user experience. The ergonomics and design of the product reach an unprecedented level of quality and accessibility. At least, that's the impression the spontaneous coverage on social media and in the media tends to give us.

Talking about the Apple Vision Pro is almost as straightforward as using the product itself! The experience is direct, easily graspable even for novices. For iPhone, Mac, or Apple TV users, the Vision Pro is poised to be the next major evolution in Apple's product lineup.

Perspectives

Apple's users have long been the main engine of its marketing. It's also the best way to gauge a product's potential. If your users become your ambassadors, you benefit from the most effective form of free marketing there is. But this is only achievable if your product offers such a level of innovation that it naturally encourages word-of-mouth.

The stream of videos and photos shared on social networks is a testament to the exceptional impact that good virality can have.

What about gaming?

In the long term, if the applications developed to enhance the Vision Pro experience are up to par with the product itself, it could truly accelerate the adoption of AR/VR headsets. If Apple manages to establish some form of compatibility with existing gaming platforms (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, etc.) allowing to play one's favorite games using the Apple Vision Pro instead of a TV or PC screen, it would be a masterstroke. And if the Apple Arcade game offering expands quickly, Apple could well establish itself as a major player in the gaming industry.
