Aug 2024 - just published: Critical Infrastructure Interdependency Case Study

I'm proud to announce that my latest paper has been published in Carleton University's Pulse & Praxis:  The Journal for Critical Infrastructure Protection, Security and Resilience!

Title: Critical Infrastructure Interdependency: A Case Study of Concurrent Shocks in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Abstract: For half a century, supply-chain statistics have played a crucial role in informing government and business about risk. This case study will briefly familiarize the reader with Critical Infrastructure Interdependency (CII) using economic indicators of risk, and proceed to assess the specific effects of nearly concurrent Critical Infrastructure shocks that occurred in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in early 2024: one on the Energy Infrastructure (specifically the pipeline industry) and the other on Water Infrastructure. Comparing the forecast effects to the empirical observations weeks after the shocks demonstrates the utility of CII risk analysis using econometrics.

Congratulations on the publication of your paper in Pulse & Praxis! I'm thrilled to see your work contributing to our understanding of critical infrastructure interdependencies. The case study on Winnipeg's concurrent shocks is fascinating and highlights the importance of risk analysis in today's complex environment. Thank you for sharing your insights with us, and I look forward to diving into your future research. Since I've read your research, I've noticed many examples where similar case studies could be employed.
