The process of making a list helps you become more organized, by forcing you to prioritize your tasks and activities. Another great thing about lists is that they are a clean way to organize yourself, offering a simple and logical structure.

You certainly made at least a couple of lists throughout your life so far. So, you will understand when I’ll tell you that lists work because of the accomplishment feeling we get when we cross off an item.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡. 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭, 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 – 𝐢𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠.

And this system works for anything you have to do, from work tasks, household activities, homework or just small tasks you have to remember to do in order to keep yourself sane, like drinking water and taking breaks.

A different kind of list

But even if most lists are meant to remind us or motivate us to do things, there is one special list that every one of us must make.

In order to create the life you want for yourself, without encountering too many obstacles in your path, you must have an Avoid at all costs list.

This kind of list can become your guide in difficult situations. Of course, you must do things in order to evolve. But you also need to know when to stop doing something or when to avoid a situation. And this list will be like your own manual that you can come to when you feel distressed.
