Being a Champion is about getting back up over and over again

There have been times in my life when I had been down and out or have been anxious about the future. I’ve looked up at the road ahead and had been completely unsure and I can tell you 1st hand when you’re going through a situation like that. It essentially consumes you. It’s all you see. It’s all you think about, to the point where the good stuff or all the opportunity around you eventually becomes transparent. You just look but see right through it.

It’s the negative; Misfortune ends up becoming your story. If you don't wake up that champion mentality inside of you, it will totally consume you, until all your negative thoughts end up manifesting more failure and leading you to ultimately just quit. This downward spiral of self-sabotage is all self-manifested.

We think of questions like; What if this situation is forever? What if we aren’t as good as we want to be or as good as everyone else is? What if things just don’t work out? And never mind the fact that you’ve been here before and you’ve battled back. Never mind how far you’ve come; No. That takes a backseat to the discomfort that you feel right now, but that’s just the irrationality of the human mind that we forget. We sometimes forget that our lows help create our highs. We forget that the temporary isn’t forever or that you can’t stand with any type of authority if you’ve never fallen before.

Most people always think of Champions as winners at everything all the time as if to have a perfect streak with no losses. But every true champion will tell you a resume full of losses, but point out the pivotal point in their life where persistence gave them their ultimate victory. Realize in failure, that accomplishing anything is never just walking up and reaching a goal. It’s about getting back up over and over again. Taking the bad breaks in stride and seeing the losses for what they are, which is necessary. There is a positive mindset in being a champion and it's not all about winning as you can see. It's about not giving up and throwing in the towel.

What if I told you that the difficult times weren’t just manageable, but they were what you needed. Those moments when you felt helpless, were a bridge to something better; Just a demonstration of just how capable you really are and how strong you can be. Feeling lost and feeling defeated is unsettling, but it’s also a reminder that you are exactly where you need to be. In one form or another, your struggle becomes your answer.

Life isn’t always calm seas and sunny skies, but if you let it; it will teach you to weather any storm to come out on top. Never lose sight of the opportunity. It’s there, hiding behind the struggle immersed in the ups and downs. And when you finally realize that; you will not let yourself stay down. It’s in the realization that you’ll get up and your trouble become another building block, not a weight around your ankles. Always remember that even with each misstep, you’re still stepping forward. So don’t ever give up, because regret is a choice that will haunt you the rest of your life.
