Beyond The First Result

Today's newsletter focuses on the idea that if you take a chatbot's first answer, you are likely leaving 90% of the value on the table.

Now with a NotebookLM digest!

Are you unlocking the full potential of ChatGPT—or just scratching the surface?

Most users settle for ChatGPT's initial, often flattering responses, missing out on transformative insights. By refining your prompts and pushing for more, you can turn ChatGPT into a powerful ally for personal and professional growth.

But if you go only 1 step further, you can transform its generic interactions into deep conversations that challenge your thinking. As with much else in life, it's all about asking the right questions!

Example: What if you asked, "Act as my executive coach, knowing I like extremely direct feedback, and tell me something about myself you know, but I don't and likely to want to know"? Instead of the simple "ask me something you know about me that I don't"...

Deeper dive into this dynamic here.

Unlock AI's true value by investing in your people.

According to a recent BCG report, 70% of the uplift from AI comes from upskilling employees—not just implementing new technology. Yet, only 6% of companies have taken this crucial step.

Equipping your team with access to cutting-edge AI tools but failing to provide the training to use them effectively leads to little to no improvement in productivity. A deeper dive into the BCG report and why the people function is key here.

Your pathway to success: AI skills over degrees.

Already today, employers prioritize AI proficiency over traditional qualifications. Microsoft's research shows that 71% of leaders prefer candidates with AI skills, even over those with more experience but lacking in AI.

Think about accelerating your career by mastering tools that amplify your productivity. Three weeks of dedicated AI learning might get you further than 3 years of degree study at this stage. Deeper dive here.

That was it for this week, I hope you learned something new - and write to you again next week!

AI is no different to any technological novelty - its integration into the work environment and its adoption by employees is doomed either to certaine death or to a completely chaotic use if it is not anticipated and accoompanied by a real change management plan. And that is not about trianing people to use a tool - it's about anticipating the changes in the work content that employees will face; upskilling employees to do things they have never done as they see their old work replaced by AI; identifying the anxieties and resistance to address them. It is not so much the Digital departments but HR that have a central role to play in this transformation
