The Big 3: A simple hack to crush your goals every day.
Hey there! I hope your Thursday is off to a great start. Today, let’s talk about goal setting—a critical part of achieving success but something many of us struggle with. If you find it hard to set goals and consistently work towards them, I want to share a simple strategy that has helped me stay focused: I call it “The Big 3.”
Here’s the idea: I set three main goals, or “Big 3,” for every year, month, week, and day. It’s a structured approach that keeps me organized and on track.
- For the year, I define my top three major goals.
- Each month, I outline three goals that will help me work toward those yearly targets.
- Every week, I set three goals that align with my monthly objectives.
- Daily, I set three tasks that directly support my weekly goals.
This way, every day’s efforts contribute to my weekly success, which then supports my monthly achievements, and ultimately leads me to accomplish my yearly targets. Let’s break it down with an example:
My Big 3 for This Month:
1. Create a 6-month content calendar for myself and a 3-month calendar for four clients (80% done and on track to deliver by the weekend).
2. Lose 4 kg of body weight (I already achieved this last month!).
3. Launch my Razor Targeting course (currently in progress).
My Big 3 for This Week:
1. Create 2 months’ worth of content.
2. Lose 1kg.
3. Complete Module 3 of my course.
By focusing on my Big 3 each week, I’m consistently working towards my monthly goals and, ultimately, my bigger yearly targets. It’s a straightforward and effective way to stay organized and committed.
One thing I’ve found really helpful is having a “Big 3” for the year, month, week, and day—it’s a great way to keep my priorities clear. Sure, there are always plenty of tasks on my list, but my Big 3 are the must-hit targets that keep me on track. Even if I only get those three things done, I know I’ve made solid progress.
If goal setting feels overwhelming, try adopting “The Big 3” approach. It’s simple, keeps you on track, and helps you focus on what really matters each day. It helps me to not get overwhelmed by the noise of all the other tasks.
Did you find this useful? Is this a strategy you think you’ll try out? I’d love to hear how it works for you!
