M stands for Motivation for others, and M stands for Money for me.
Yes, you see right, the bigger motivation is Money.
Amit Dubey: Sir today I feel low, I need the motivation to get in a high position and mood.

I want to talk about two theories or principles that are required to comprehend the idea of motivation.
Abraham Harold Maslow or Maslow Theory:
Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a five-step model that describes how human needs influence behaviour. It is based on Abraham Maslow's theory of human motivation. With the most fundamental needs at the base of the pyramid and the greatest needs at the top, the five levels of the hierarchy reflect various categories of human needs.
The Maslow hierarchy of requirements has five levels, which are as follows:
- Physiological Needs: In the hierarchy of needs, physiological needs rank first and are the most fundamental. These needs include food, drink, shelter, warmth, sex, sleep, and other fundamental biological requirements. Before addressing any additional requirements, these needs must be met. According to Maslow, feelings of anxiety, stress, and desperation can result from not having these needs fulfilled.
- Safety needs: Following the satisfaction of physiological needs, safety needs take precedence. The need for security, stability, police, schools, business, and medical care and protection are all examples of safety requirements. This can include a feeling of stability in one's surroundings, financial protection, and physical safety. Maslow thought that until people feel safe and secure, they will not be able to concentrate on higher-level needs.
- Love and Belonging Need: Once safety requirements are satisfied, people progress to the third level of Maslow's hierarchy, which is love and belonging needs. This encompasses the desire for , friendship, intimacy, trust, acceptance, receiving and giving affection, and love. adoration, and a sense of community. People desire a sense of belonging to a community or organization and strong interpersonal connections. Maslow believed that if those needs are not satisfied, loneliness and isolation may result in a person.
- Esteem requirements: Following the satisfaction of one's requirements for love and belonging, one advance to the fourth level of Maslow's hierarchy, which is esteem needs. Esteem needs include the need for regard for oneself, esteem for oneself, dignity, achievement, mastery, independence, and respect for status, and prestige from others. In addition to wanting to feel good about themselves, people also want to feel respected and esteemed by others. Maslow thought that when these needs are not satisfied, individuals may feel inadequate and have low self-esteem.
Extended Hierarchy of Needs
The hierarchy of needs has undergone numerous revisions and refutations since Maslow's initial theory was put forth in the middle of the 20th century. Among the most significant modifications to the hypothesis are:
- Cognitive needs: The desire for information, comprehension, and meaning are referred to as cognitive needs. This includes the desire to solve problems, the quest for knowledge, and the need for cerebral stimulation. Activities such as studying, reading, and exploring can satisfy these requirements.
- Aesthetic needs: Aesthetic needs are the desires for harmony, beauty, and order in our surroundings. In addition to the desire for symmetry, balance, and proportion, this also includes the enjoyment of music, art, and the natural world. Activities like going to concerts, touring museums, or spending time in nature can all fulfil these requirements.
- Self-Actualization Needs: Self-actualization needs are the fifth and highest stage in Maslow's hierarchy. These requirements are centered on individual development, ingenuity, and self-fulfillment. Reaching this level in the hierarchy means that a person is committed to realizing their maximum potential and improving themselves. Only a small portion of individuals, in Maslow's estimation, are able to climb all the way to the top of the hierarchy.
- Transcendence Needs: The need to transcend oneself and associate with a force greater than oneself is referred to as a transcendence need. This encompasses the need for spiritual development, a sense of direction or meaning, and a sense of community. These needs may be met by participating in practices like prayer, meditation, or performing deeds of service or altruism.
Maslow's hierarchy of needs is modified by Clayton Alderfer's ERG theory. (Alderfer, 1969). Alderfer suggested that the three categories of existence, relatedness, and growth could serve as substitutes for the five needs that are hierarchically arranged.
- Existence needs: Existence needs are the most fundamental and fundamental needs of a person, making them the first category of needs. These necessities, such as food, shelter, and protection, are related to our material and physical well-being. These requirements, according to Alderfer, are comparable to Maslow's physiological and safety needs.
- Relatedness Needs: Needs for relationships, social contact, and a sense of belonging make up the second group of needs, known as relatedness needs. This involves the need for other people's love, adoration, and acceptance. These needs, according to Alderfer, are comparable to Maslow's needs for belonging and affection.
- Growth Needs: The needs for personal growth, self-actualization, and self-esteem make up the third group of needs. This encompasses the drive for growth, success, and creativity. These requirements, according to Alderfer, are comparable to Maslow's esteem and self-actualization needs.
Overall, the ERG Theory offers an alternative paradigm for comprehending behavior- and motivation-driven factors in humans. According to the theory, human needs are not always strictly hierarchical, and people can have several requirements at once. The theory emphasizes the significance of interpersonal relationships and psychological development in influencing behaviour.
