Clearly, if one were confronted with the situation referenced in the above title it would seem appropriate to experience a full-blown anxiety/stress reaction, but related issues come to mind:

  1. Are there somewhat “lesser” situations where stress could be “beneficial”?
  2. Are there ways to prepare the body for stressful situations?
