Bold Steps for a Thriving 2025: Creating Real Connection
As we head into 2025, I keep coming back to one idea: Human Connection.
It’s the heartbeat of everything I do—whether helping leaders navigate tech transformations or working with diverse teams to unlock their potential. It’s also the reason behind my long-time mantra: Creating real connection between people and technology.
The world is changing at breakneck speed, and it’s easy to get lost in the chaos. But here’s the thing: technology is just a tool. The magic happens when we use it to deepen our connections—with ourselves, our teams, and the world around us.
This year, I’m doubling down on connection as the foundation for every bold step we take. Let’s explore how.
Lessons from 2024: Connection as a Constant
If 2024 taught me anything, it’s that connection is a superpower.
This year, I’ve seen firsthand how collaboration sparks creativity and how shared experiences drive innovation. During the IDEA to IMPACT IgniteHer Challenge, I watched women entrepreneurs cheer each other on, share their wins (big and small), and navigate challenges together.
Even when things went sideways (hello, tech glitches!), it was the power of connection that kept us moving forward. It reminded me that sometimes, it’s the smallest gestures—a kind word, a shared laugh, or simply showing up—that make the biggest impact.
Takeaway: What connections supported you in 2024? How will you nurture those relationships in 2025?
Releasing What Disconnects Us
Connection isn’t just about adding more—it’s also about letting go of what holds us back.
This year, I had to release my “do it all” mindset. For someone who’s been navigating tech for decades, asking for help felt uncomfortable at first. But letting go of that belief allowed me to focus on what I do best—and reconnect with what matters most.
And let’s talk about tech. Technology can be an incredible bridge, but it can also create barriers. If a tool is more stress than solution, it’s time to reassess. My mantra is simple: tech should serve us, not overwhelm us.
Takeaway: What habits, tools, or beliefs are creating disconnection in your life? What will you release in 2025 to make room for growth?
Bold Steps for Connection in 2025
Bold steps don’t have to be big—they just need to be intentional.
For me, one bold step in 2025 will be completing my book, Full Throttle & Torque: My Life as an Alien. It’s scary to put something so personal out into the world, but I know it’s worth it. Sharing stories of embracing differences and thriving through transformation feels like the ultimate way to create connection.
For leaders, bold steps might look like:
Every bold step starts with one question: How will this strengthen my connection to others?
Takeaway: What bold step will you take in 2025 to create connection, foster growth, or inspire change?
Closing Reflection
As we step into 2025, here’s my guiding principle:
Technology connects us to possibility, but humanity connects us to purpose.
When we focus on building real connections—celebrating differences, using tech with intention, and showing up for one another—we create space for growth, innovation, and impact.
What’s your first step toward deeper connection this year? Let’s inspire each other to make 2025 the year of Human Connection. 🌟
