Brave June- full of the what ifs...
I’m full of the what ifs this week.
In a newsletter about fear, self-doubt and confidence, I thought it would be good to talk about my own self-doubt.
My podcast is launching this week and honestly, I'm full of the what ifs.
What if…
But, what if…
I hadn’t been seriously considering making a podcast this year but a chance conversation with Dave Howard from Bespoken Media got the wheels turning. Between having our conversation in Edinburgh and my train ride back to Fife, I had the makings of a guest list and the rough outline of the show.
Brave Conversations; where we talk about some of the big things in life.
Life is a roller coaster for us all, there are none of us living perfect lives (even the people who portray perfect lives). We are all impacted by work, money, business, death, ill health, the state of the world and more.
Life can feel very hard sometimes and we can feel alone in our feelings.

In my work I have brave conversations all the time. I talk about fear on a regular basis, because fear keeps us stuck and if you’ve met me in real life you will know that I don't shy away from the big stuff.
My hope for the podcast is that by inviting incredible people along to talk about their own experiences of life, you will know and appreciate that we all have ‘big stuff’. That none of us are alone in our fears, our experiences, our trauma. That you might be able to breathe a big sigh of relief and say ‘me too’, walk a bit taller and perhaps have a brave conversation of your own.
I firmly believe that by having brave conversations we all get to be inspired by each other, have more honesty in our lives, our emotions, our big stuff. Life is messy after all and when we share the messy it all feels a bit more manageable. We are able to feel seen and be our whole self.

I hope you will listen to the first episode and tell me “what does brave mean to you?”
The first episode is with the wonderful Elke Thompson we talk about life, death and everything in between. Elke tells us "It's okay to be sad but, it's okay to be happy too. " Your ears are in for a treat.

In other news, I've created a free journalling download for you.
Writing down three good things about my day every day has been one of the best habits I've created for myself. It keeps me sober. Every day I get to be grateful for not waking up with a hangover and a healthy dose of the fear. It keeps me focussed on looking after my own mental health. It's a great way to process your own thoughts and really dig down into what is bothering you, what is bringing you joy and creating a mindful practice of daily reflection.
I hope you find it useful.
