Building a Business While Remaining Humble. Is It Possible?

In today’s world, it can feel like the only way to succeed is by being arrogant, demanding, and ruthless.

But here’s the truth: That’s not the way to lasting success.

It might give you short-term wins, but it will eventually catch up to you.

Years ago, it seemed like power, arrogance, and ruthlessness were the keys to success.

But today, things are different.

The business world has shifted, and people are starting to value humility, authenticity, and respect more than ever.

We see it all around us the people who act like they’re better than everyone else.

They may get ahead for a while, but sooner or later, their arrogance and lack of respect for others will catch up with them.

The real success comes from staying grounded, building genuine relationships, and treating people right.

I became an entrepreneur 35 years ago because I was tired of working for arrogant people who always took advantage of you.

They were demanding, dismissive, and made you feel small.

That wasn’t the environment I wanted.

Those kinds of people are still out there, acting like they’re better than everyone else.

But here’s the good news: We don’t have to deal with them anymore.

Being in business is about working with people who have a strong desire to succeed, who are full of energy, and who want to make things happen.

But what’s not cool is when those same people lose their humility and get full of themselves.

We’ve all seen it, and it’s not pretty.

If you find yourself working with people who are toxic, arrogant, demanding, or just plain miserable to be around, you don’t have to stick around.

Don’t sit in the shit with someone who drags you down.

Find another job, change careers, form a partnership, or just go on your own.

Life is too short to waste it with people who don’t respect you or anyone else.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to who you choose to work with.

And no matter how successful you become, don’t lose yourself in the process.

Always remember where you came from, and always give back.

Help others along the way and stay humble.

Success without humility isn’t success at all.

Here are a few tips I’ve learned along my journey:

Surround yourself with good people. The right team will lift you up, challenge you, and help you grow. Don’t settle for anything less.

Stay grounded. No matter how much success comes your way, don’t let it change who you are. Remain the same person who started the journey.

Help others. The best way to stay humble is to give back. Whether it’s through mentoring, supporting your community, or just being kind, giving makes you a better person.

Don’t tolerate toxicity. Life’s too short to be surrounded by people who drain your energy and make you feel small. Move on and find better opportunities.

Remember your why. Keep in mind why you started your business. Whether it was to have more control over your life, to work with great people, or to make an impact, stay true to that vision.

Building a business while staying humble isn’t just possible it’s essential.

The real success comes when you stay grounded, act with integrity, and treat people with the respect they deserve.

The world needs more good people doing the right thing. Let’s be those people.
