Case Study: Creating a Unique Hexagonal Wall for the Harrods Hive Event in Dubai
When Z7 Communications approached our team to recreate the Harrods Hive event in Dubai, we were excited for the challenge. The Harrods Hive is an international initiative of Harrods, connecting industry leaders with emerging local talents through networking events and panel discussions.
The Project
The project consisted of a three-set-up plan comprising a private dinner, panel talk, and cocktail evening. Our team collaborated with the luxury event agency Z7 Communications to create almost two hundred hexagon shapes forming a dome-shaped wall, resembling a beehive. Other scenic aspects included the greenery wall, stage, backdrop, social sharing, entrance tunnel, and more.
The Technical Challenge
In Shanghai, the original design for hexagon was hollow that joined together to form a single curved wall. However, in Dubai the model was refined to a fully covered structure that curved in both ways, something that had never been done before. Crafting the complex dome-shaped hexagons proved challenging, and the team experimented with multiple approaches, ultimately developing three designs through trial and error over two days to achieve the desired outcome.
The team understood that to create something truly unique, they would need to think outside the box. They utilised their high-end machinery and expertise to execute the creative and intricate production process in under a week.
Another challenge was that the three setups had to be dismantled and installed within a few hours. Our team stayed in stand-by to ensure a swift turnaround. To maintain high-quality standards in a high-pressure environment, we only employs experts in their respective fields, constantly investing in their training and knowledge.
Thanks to the team's quick response, innovative problem-solving, and efficient turnaround, the client was thrilled with the project's success.
