Celebrating 50th Anniversary of Semiconductor Industry in Singapore

2018 has been an important year in my personal journey, a year of transformation and reflection. It also marks a milestone in my years of experience in the semiconductor industry as I take on a new role in Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA).

As an Executive Director of SSIA, it is a great honour to be able to organize Semicon50, a celebratory dinner on 14th November 2018 at Ritz Carlton, to mark the 50th anniversary of the semiconductor industry in Singapore.

Its been quite a ride for this industry ever since National Semiconductor set up its first semiconductor test and assembly plant in 1968. Throughout the past five decades, the industry has continuously innovated and transformed itself to keep up with the market demands and changes. The semiconductor industry has grown to become one of Singapore’s largest industries and a strong pillar for Singapore’s economy.

As we celebrate our 53rd National day today, I believe it will be the best occasion to also congratulate the industry for its success and wish Singapore and the semiconductor industry many more years of growth and excellence. I take this occasion to also announce that Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) is launching the sale of tickets for Semicon50.

We are expecting up to 1000 guests, and this includes industry veterans, industry leaders and members of the public sector to come together for this memorable celebratory dinner. If you are interested to be part of this occasion, feel free to register your interest here.
