Chris Powell and Travis Powell Recognized Among Avenue Calgary Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 for 2024

Travis Powell, President of KLS Earthworks & Environmental and Calgary Aggregate Recycling Inc. , is a proud member of a TEC CEO group led by TEC Chair Barry Brad !

The brothers are leaders in eco-friendly construction practices and prioritize a diverse workforce and collaboration with Indigenous partners. Along with promoting diversity within their workforce — over half their leadership team is female — the brothers, who are Métis, foster collaborative relationships with Indigenous communities. They worked closely with the Stoney Nakoda Nations to address damage after the 2013 flood, and are members of the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business .

The 24th annual Prix Femmes d'affaires du Québec competition honours a dozen women from various backgrounds and sectors of activity. 360 Energy Inc. Honored with Mid-Sized Business Award by Hamilton Chamber of Commerce

In recognition of its contributions to the business community and leadership in sustainable practices, 360 Energy Inc. | Energy and Carbon Strategy | Tangible Results Delivered was awarded the Mid-Sized Business Award at the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce 's 40th Annual Outstanding Business Achievement Awards on April 10, 2024.

David Arkell —President and CEO of 360 Energy and member of a TEC Small Business group led by TEC Chair Brenda Gingerich —accepted the award on behalf of the company. The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce highlighted 360 Energy's innovative approach to addressing the challenges of managing energy and climate change. Philippe Hudon Named 2024 CEO of the Year – Small Business by Les Affaires

In addition to donating 1% of company revenue to environmental causes, Akonovia prides itself on a strong internal culture, offering employees flexibility, such as a four-day workweek, training opportunities, and a collaborative, non-micromanagement approach. This philosophy has helped maintain low employee turnover in a tight labour market.
