Celebrating International Youth Day: Empowering Our Future Leaders
In celebration of International Youth Day, we organized a special coffee break session exclusively for our young team members, all aged 24 years and below. This gathering wasn’t just a casual get-together—it was a moment of empowerment, learning, and inspiration. We were honored to have two of our esteemed leaders, Mr. Idris Siddig , our Director of HR, and Mr. Ashoka Maithripala , our Finance Manager, as speakers who shared invaluable insights and advice that will undoubtedly shape the future careers and lives of our young talents.
The session kicked off with Mr. Idris Siddig, who captivated the audience with his deep insights into career development and professional growth. With a wealth of experience in human resources, Mr. Idris highlighted the myriad opportunities available within Hilton for young professionals eager to start and accelerate their career journeys. He stressed the importance of setting clear, achievable goals and developing a strategic plan to reach them. In an interactive discussion, he engaged with the team, asking about their aspirations and the steps they are currently taking to achieve them. His motivational stories of success, drawn from both his personal experience and the journeys of others within the company, resonated deeply with everyone present. His key message was clear: with determination, hard work, and the right guidance, every goal is within reach.
Following Mr. Idris, Mr. Ashoka Maithripala took the stage to discuss a topic that is often overlooked by many young professionals—personal finance. With his extensive knowledge in finance management, Mr. Ashoka presented an engaging session on the importance of financial literacy. He broke down complex financial concepts into simple, actionable tips, offering advice on how to save, invest, and maintain financial stability. His practical tips on budgeting, the power of compound interest, and the importance of early investing were eye-opening for many. Mr. Ashoka’s session was not just about numbers; it was about cultivating a mindset of financial discipline and long-term planning that will empower our young team members to secure their financial future.
