A Change of Scene…
How often do you get away for the weekend? It was something I used to enjoy very much, whether it was a short, uplifting visit to the ski slopes or a chance to jog in the sunshine and breathe in the fresh sea air, the change of scene was a fabulous way to recharge my batteries and boost creativity. In today’s super-busy world, it isn’t always easy to get away, even though I still recommend it as an effective counter-measure to the stresses and challenges that so many people deal with every day. So, what can we do to maintain our health, our wellbeing and our sanity?
It might not be possible to escape for the weekend but most of us can get of the house and take a walk. I know. It doesn’t sound very exciting. But the benefits of an hour or two of gentle exercise combined with a change in scenery can work wonders for our wellbeing. We all benefit from the kind of sensory stimulation that we experience during a walk in the countryside. It awakens primeval senses that help us to become more aware of our environment. It’s the perfect antidote to our myopic focus on social media.
