A City Without Partnerships

A City Without Partnerships

A city without partnership has no common ground to meet objective. No vision and no ambition accomplish smart city status. Any city has it heritage and founding statement. Meaning the origin of its being. Its place of reference by which some call home or birth place. Urbanization is a contributing factor to the well being of citizens. Civilians are build on key connecting points to ensure that they adapt to change and stand for a long time. The most colorful moment for me, are the diverse culture of people and where they come from. Ubuntu we call but it have gone from the lips of people and dwell in the shadow of many's mind and hang on the sting of our hearts.

Coming back to the fact of a city without partnership, municipalities' become reluctance to take action on responsibility and often shift the blame. Since change of any kind rarely occurs from within local government, any response or change in approach will likely happen. The only it happens, by initiation of community organizations or institute. A partnership is a culture needed to bring change for innovation and advancement. Building partnerships with strategic people that will last institutional change such as politicians willing to provide information and access to the municipal decision-making process. City partnership eliminates barriers and give access to services you never had.

Changing traditional approaches of how cities work, can be inclusive of community City planning and policies and make it commitment to change and plan for making that change a reality which are an external committee which are non bias and non political aligned. Establishing a Public Participation Panel Dialogue Discussion Group will change the perception of communities of city officials and build confidence.

My recommendation:

1) All recommendations made are implemented and treated seriously

2) the City continues to work in partnership with community organizations to address issues of access to information or sharing (Reduce Protesting and Violence etc.)

3) the City adopts the principles of inclusivity into its own consultation processes to ensure that communities concerns are considered and addressed in City planning and policy
