Coaching Champions and Performing Miracles

Coaching Champions and Performing Miracles

About a decade ago, I had a mentor named Lee Queen. (Sadly, he passed away.)  Lee guided me through mentoring and supporting prisoners as they transitioned to life outside the clink.

Even though we were volunteers, Lee was a legend in the prison system. He often told the young men we worked with that his door was always open. And it was, and I know that because I popped over a few times to talk when I was discouraged.

Now, I love people, but I'm also an introvert. In CliftonStrengths terms, I'm a "Relator". While I love being with people, I also need time to recharge.

Every once in a while, Lee would call me, and he'd sing, "I just called to say I love you." Who does that? Lee's open-door policy and big-hearted nature made him an incredible mentor. While striving to be as open as Lee, my approach differs.

As a coach, I believe in setting intentional boundaries—not because I'm less committed than Lee, but because I want to empower others to drive their growth. I'll meet you where you are, but I want you to come ready to work hard. Why? Because coaching can help make miracles happen, but true greatness requires commitment, intentionality, and a willingness to push yourself beyond your comfort zone.

Lee taught me a lot, especially the belief that inside each of us is a champion waiting to emerge. Coaching can help you tap into that potential—raising performance, shifting mindsets, and inspiring a more optimistic outlook. But here's the truth: no matter how good your coach is, miracles don't happen without you taking the first step. Message me, and let's see if coaching is a perfect fit to elevate your performance at work and in life.
