Recruiters, cold calling works - for those that fear it, let's dive in...


Imagine this: If the CEO of a Fortune 10 called you and asked you to recruit a CFO, you may only have 15 potential candidates across America. In this case, you will need to make calls - an inmail/email won't work alone.


When working with clients, many recruiters spend their time creating massive lists of candidates to then do messaging campaigns and see who replies. However, if Recruiters just call the top 20 candidates (from those lists) that perfectly align for the role, how often would they make the hire sooner?

Why? Candidates are not always engaged with their personal email linked with LinkedIn for notifications and also may not be engaged with LinkedIn content in general (healthcare and blue collar industries, specifically). So, the best way and sometimes the only way is a direct call.


Now, what a Recruiter says on the phone, that is the creation of an artist at work.


What do I mean?

Recruiters need to stay 100% focused on why they are calling that individual specifically (so do your homework on who they are and what they have done) and how excited your client would be to discuss the potential opportunity with them.


Here is the secret: Recruiters, sometimes... you don't need to do the full-on recruiter interview/screener.


Learning about accomplishments and what they have done will come through creating a great conversation, allowing you to create the interview notes that become the presentation.


Getting the perfect candidate enticed about the role and then setup to meet your hiring manager...that is the most important thing as the Executive Recruiter.


Many hiring managers will be thrilled to meet with such a rockstar.
