Configuring Gateway
Two tips to connect SAP NW Gateway to SAP Business Suite.
Configure Backend Server as the 'trusting' system
- Go to the transaction SM59.
- Enter the following and hit enter:
- RFC Destination: < SID of Gateway > CLNT < Client >
- Connection type: 3
- Description 1: RFC Destination to Gateway Server
- Under the technical settings tab, enter the gateway host to the target host field and its instance number to the system number field. Click o Save.
- Go to transaction SMT1. Click on Create.
- Enter the destination you have just created in the destination field. Click on Continue.
- The info of trusted system is displayed. Click on Save.
Configure the Gateway server as the 'trusted' system by creating a type 3 RFC destination on Gateway on Gateway to the Backend
- Go to SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG. Open SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> SAP NetWeaver -> Gateway -> Configuration ->Connection Settings -> SAP NetWeaver Gateway to SAP System -> Manager RFC Destinations. Click on the Activity icon next to it.
- Click on Create- Enter the following info and hit enter:
- RFC Destination: < SID of Backend > CLNT < Client > ( e.g EC7CLNT0001)
- Connection type: 3
- Description 1: RFC Destination to Backend
- Under the technical settings tab, enter the backend's host to the target host field and its instance number to the system number field.
- Click on the logon & security tab. Enter the client number of the backend. Click on the checkbox of current user. And select for trust relationship.
- Save the settings.
