ELLISDON SOCIAL HIGHLIGHTS

Army Run: Ottawa & Quebec project members came together to break a sweat! 😅

Over 60 colleagues participated in the Canada Army Run with a 5km, 10 or even 21km race. The teams raised funds for two organizations, Support Our Troops and Soldier On, which aims to empower ill and injured members to start their road to recovery and rehabilitation. Celebrating International Day of the Girl, it's our pleasure to spotlight Shruti Surwade , a shining example of growth and ambition at EllisDon. Starting as a co-op student, Shruti's journey exemplifies our strides in the construction industry.

While we recognize that the quest for human rights and gender equality is a continual effort, we firmly believe that with robust support, resources, and opportunities, the potential of young girls is limitless. Read more here.

Waste Reduction Week - Royal Columbian Hospital Highlight

This Waste Reduction Week, we're highlighting how EllisDon builds with the future in mind. Our proactive waste management strategies at projects like the Royal Columbian Hospital are setting new standards for sustainability. Targeting LEED Gold, RCH boasts a 93% diversion rate, keeping over 22 million kg of material out of landfills.

• Wayne Ferguson Announced as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Services: With the acceptance of this new role, Wayne Ferguson will leverage his construction expertise to maintain, strengthen, and enhance the company's service offerings in Facilities Management, Project Management, Furniture, Equipment & Design, and Energy and Digital Services.
• Honouring World Mental Health Day: In line with this year’s theme, "Mental Health at Work," we're taking the opportunity to highlight our unwavering commitment to integrating mental wellness into our safety culture. We're especially proud of the work Nadina Holca , our Mental Health Specialist, is doing to develop tailored support initiatives that address the unique needs of our team members.
• Edmonton Government Plaza Wins 2024 Infrastructure Minister's Awards for Innovation in Equality: The award was accepted by Chris Lane , SVP and Area Manager, last night at the Infrastructure Partners Conference in Edmonton. The area has been redesigned into a hybrid space to incorporate three water features consisting of a new reflecting pool, an ornamental dome fountain, and four connected terraced pools. Phase 1 opened on Canada Day and Phase 2 looks to be completed in Spring 2025.
• $70,000 Raised for London Health Sciences Foundation Epilepsy Monitoring Unit: As Canada’s largest Unit in Canada, EllisDon is proud to support this team in the revolutionary work they do to support those effected by epilepsy. Randy Reymer expressed his heartfelt thank you to the entire team for their support. The funds raised from the charity tournament will go towards the investigation of patients for possible surgery, aiding in the diagnosis of epilepsy and other conditions, and treatment.

Superintendent (Thunder Bay, ON) - This role involves coordinating with various teams, managing on-site activities, and ensuring that all work is performed according to project specifications and safety regulations. The Superintendent is responsible for monitoring progress, addressing any issues that arise, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed successfully and to the highest standards.

Senior Estimator (Edmonton, AB) - This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your expertise and contribute to our success. This role involves collaborating with different departments to gather necessary information, analyzing project requirements, and ensuring that all estimates are comprehensive and competitive.

Plumber (Oakville, ON) - Your expertise will be vital in maintaining the high standards of our plumbing systems. The Plumber works closely with other facilities staff to ensure that all plumbing systems are operating efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall maintenance and functionality of the facilities.

Planner and Scheduler - EV Battery Component Plant/Data Centre (Greater Toronto Area, Canada) - Prepare and maintains project schedules, monitors progress, and assists in developing and reviewing project baselines to ensure timely and efficient execution. This role involves working closely with project managers and other team members to develop detailed schedules, track project milestones, and identify potential delays or issues.
