Although a different sport, Football takes significant Player Development Inspiration from Futsal. In many ways there is a symbiotic relationship between the two sports.
While less developed, Indoor Cricket although not as uniform as Futsal, represents a significant missed opportunity for Professional Cricket. Indoor Cricket or the Optimal Version of Indoor Cricket has the potential to become a Commercially Viable Product. It also represents a breeding ground for developing players.
When you dilute the dimensions of any sport in training, players need to operate a hyper-efficient levels to improve. As a result, they become better batters, runners between wickets, better fielders, and better bowlers. It also lends to more strategy and each ball becomes more important.
Because Cricket doesn't value Player Development in the Traditional Sense, the inability to co-opt Indoor Cricket remains a missed opportunity at all levels.
