Daily Dive 97: Endure and Respond
Daily Dive 98 was on Friday, November 15. It referenced Day 99; the beginning of this home stretch so to speak. Yes 99 days to my birthday, now 94. Subsequently, I then posted last Saturday on Day 97 in finding the Awe.
All of that is to say that Days 96 (Sunday), and 95 (Monday) were not posted due to the unforeseen. This is one crazy, busy term and Fall; the busiest I have ever experienced. I knew it going in, but knowing and knowing are two different things. Full time teaching, plus Epic Engage and 2 university courses ... and multiple major projects... no excuses, just reality. That is life.
I did get in a post on Deliver...
All of that is to say that I am still on track. The walking steps are happening; the water too. This day, (Day 94 on the countdown) is marked by a virtue; Endurance.
Strength through adversity, lessons in same, refusing to be kept down, accepting the challenges, outlasting them, and having the Confidence to keep going. This is Endurance.
Endurance feeds on challenge; even feasts on it. The "easy" is an empty bowl for Endurance. We cannot practice it in ease. It is grown in dis-ease.
For me, this day, I am reminded of the importance of these milestones for my birthday. I am reminded of the importance of my "gift list" for November and December (see the left). These are not arbitrary "wishes". They are core to my being, and doing... going forward.
They are bricks to building the next chapter; nay, the next book.
As I approach my 60th birthday on February 20, 2020, I am reminded of both the importance and, dare I say, urgency. I am reminded that execution matters even more than strategy and planning. I am reminded that I must let "deeds, not words" be my adorning.
What do you want most? What are you prepared to do to get there? What are you prepared to endure, to get there? Admit it, accept it, and engage it. Others can help, but it is your life; your Responsibility.
Peace, passion and prosperity...
