A Decade of Gratitude, Growth and Learnings at Microsoft

How working with Microsoft has shaped my career and life.

I am thrilled and grateful to share that I have completed 10 years of working with Microsoft, one of the most innovative and impactful companies in the world. It has been an incredible journey of growth and learning, both professionally and personally. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds and the most passionate leaders in the industry, and I have been inspired by their vision, values, and culture.

I joined Microsoft in 2013 when winds of change started blowing, change in way we developed our solutions, change of mindset, change in being more collaborative and moving to become a dependable platform for the people and organizations on planet to do more. I was amazed by the scale and complexity of the projects, and the collaboration and agility of the teams. I also learned the importance of customer feedback, user experience, and continuous improvement.

I have also taken on distinct roles and responsibilities, working as solution specialist, BDM- Azure, PDM for Data, PDM for ITES 360 to team leader, and mentor. I have enjoyed the diversity and challenge of each assignment, and I have always found support and guidance from my managers, mentors, and peers. I have also been able to pursue my interests and passions, such as mentoring, writing, and volunteering, thanks to the flexible and inclusive work environment at Microsoft.

Working with Microsoft has not only helped me grow my skills and knowledge, but also my mindset and attitude. I have learned to embrace change, to be open to innovative ideas, to be initiative-taking and resilient, and to always keep learning and innovating. I have also learned to balance work and life, to prioritize my health and well-being, and to appreciate the people and the opportunities around me.

Opportunities:

Individual Growth: I grew as a person and became a better version of myself since 2013 in last ten years. Every single day, Microsoft helped me get better and better versions of myself. The learnings, challenging assignments, amazing colleagues, awesome customers & partners, Inspiring leaders. What else can one ask for?

Learning every day: I could work on so many different assignments from early days of Azure as BDM, collaborating with key customers, Identifying Data partners and getting them to work with Microsoft, Global ITES360 partnerships, Early days of Solution specialist for Apps & Data, to now onboarding ISV’s & growing business with them globally. Each assignment has developed my professional skills. If someone asked me what I value most about my decade, it is the learnings & experiences.

Working with New Age technologies: I have been very enthusiastic about technology from early days in HCM, E-learning, Virtualization, Data centers, Virtual backups. So, landing at Microsoft & seeing Azure evolve as platform to Core & Infra, App Innovation, Security & Data platform grow so well and take lead, Azure Data services to Fabric and most recent of all the Azure Open AI & Copilots. All these innovations excite me every Monday morning.

Milestones:

Leading New ISV & SaaS Team: The first year is the most important moment of my professional career when I won BEST PEOPLE MANAGER AWARD with an ALL Women team & reporting to a Women leader. I learned so much in this year and grew as an Individual. I want to thank each of them from the depth of my heart.

$1 Billion: From Ideation to bringing all pieces together, from disbelief to real numbers, working across geographies, working with multiple solutions, various industry teams, as PDM this became the highest professional moment for me. (Cannot name or share details due to business confidentiality)

Data Partners: I went with a problem as Solution specialist to my then skip leader and he asked me to find solution and that resulted in my move to partners organization. Meeting over 300 organizations, small & medium to evaluate and explore business possibilities was most enriching experience of my professional life. We saw success with close to fifty-eight organizations and most of them have been acquired in the last few years & some have grown big now. For long I was known as Data guy & I loved it.

I am proud and honored to be part of the Microsoft family, and I look forward to the next decade of making a difference in the world with Microsoft.
