When I was shortlisted in Stryker as a Regional Head , 

I went to HR and my boss with one question ..

Why did they select me ( because my prior background was all pharma and no devices )

As they always had options to choose from talent from the medical device industry …

I was told just one word - DIVERSITY !

My stint with Stryker made me to learn and interact with people from 

Different backgrounds ( Global  Team, R&D etc.), which means  I was able to 

Share my ideas , beliefs and thinking with others and likewise :

I learnt the second word - INCLUSION !

After many years , I have realised the how Diversity and Inclusion 

is the game changing strategy for many many big organisations .

No wonders , Now I see leaders are focused on diversity 

in recruiting , in each of their functions, and in leadership roles 

( Including making 50% of employees women ) 

Diversity can be of many types 

  • Diversity in beliefs 
  • Racial and ethnic diversity 
  • Gender diversity 
  • Diversity in age 
  • Skills and Talent diversity 
  • Diversity in job & experience ( that's how I was hired in Stryker )
  • Diversity in education
