Do this when you have a difficult position to fill

The best employees are seldom looking for a position. Only 5 to 10% of employees are actively looking at job postings. That is why companies occasionally need help finding them for you. Please let me share some recruitment tips we learned in the last 34 years.

1) Referrals :

The best place to find candidates is by asking current employees who they worked with in the past who were good employees.

Using referrals is how we fill the majority of our search assignments. We have over 150,000 targeted candidates in our proprietary database.

2) Job Postings:

InDeed, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn are several of the best job sites. I bet you are already using them.

TIP: Here is what we learned about posting positions online: Post more than just a “job description and responsibilities .”Your posting will be much more effective if you follow this formula:

- Tell the reader about your company. What stands out about it, makes it special?

- Share your philosophy on your dedication to both employee and customer satisfaction.

- High-performing candidates are open to positions that offer them career development. In your job posting, tell these high-performers how working for you will benefit their career.

- When you think your posting is ready to be published, have another set of eyes look at it and ask, “Does this posting answer the question, why should I consider quitting my job, turn down a counteroffer, and take your position?”
