🌳 Do you believe in yourself? 🌳

Hello, my friends!

One of the focal points of my personal exploration is human potential.

I love to explore what is possible for us, and then take this exploration into actualization, turning those potentials into abilities.

And I’ve been blessed with a particular perspective about such things: If it can be done by a human being, then I can do it.

And this is something that applies not just to me, but to all human beings.

There’s a quote attributed to Henry Ford that sticks out in my mind:

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.”

If we believe in our own ability to pursue a path of action or cultivate an ability or learn something new, then the way clears before us.

And, if we believe that it is not possible, that we must simply accept our lives at face value and settle for what’s on offer, then we will experience the world in a way that reflects that.

In other words, if we believe we can't, we will have experience after experience that shows us that this belief is true.

The impact of belief upon perception is subtle and sweeping, forming a container of thoughts and stories that we inhabit and play out in our lives.

With this in mind, there are two types of beliefs: limiting and expansive.

If we have a limiting belief, something that says we can’t or shouldn’t or that it’s not possible, then we will receive evidence from the world in unquestionable terms that this belief is valid.

And, if we can shift our belief from a limiting story to an expansive one, a story that says we can, then, almost as if by magic, we will begin to have experiences which offer evidence that we can.

However, beliefs can be tricky to work with.

I mean, have you ever tried to believe something different than you believe?

Our beliefs are rooted in the subconscious, and it takes inner work to access them at all.

One practice which is incredibly helpful at accessing and shifting these limiting beliefs is Theta Healing.

Theta Healing is a form of meditation-based healing which allows us to use inner work in a highly flexible and customizable way, both for self-healing and for standing in support of others.

And, one of the gems that you’ll learn with Theta Healing is that every belief that we carry serves us in some way.

So, in order to shift a limiting belief into something more positive, it’s important to know how this belief serves us. How does it help us? Where did we learn it, and from whom?

Once we understand how a belief serves us, we have an opportunity to cultivate a new, expansive belief that serves the same purpose without the prior limitations.

This sounds complicated, but consider the belief, “If I shine bright, I might make others feel lesser.”

This is a limiting belief.

If we carry this belief, we might tend to hide or express ourselves in any number of distorted ways, all to sidestep the consequences written in our inner script.

However, if we understand that this belief serves us by helping us to be humble and support others to shine, then we have an opportunity.

We can serve this same purpose of humility and service with the expansive belief, “In allowing myself to shine, I inspire others to shine as well!”

The same values are served, but we have cast aside the limitations that we have outgrown.
