Don't Stop Mexico Now... and Never

José Castorena, Cristopher Tronco and Marcos Zárate made history for Mexico.

The 2019 Lima Parapan American Games provided to Mexico a unique moment, with the Mexican podium with gold for José Castorena, silver for Cristopher Tronco, and bronze for Marcos Zárate in the 50 mts. male chest SB2 swimming competition. This outstanding participation is part of the current rank in the medals. Mexico is third behind US (2nd place) and Brazil (1st place). Is not a surprise than paralympic athletes from Mexico used to be very competitive in all the global or regional tournaments; and this current exhibition makes this very clear.

José Carlos Villarreal, in a surprising result, defeated the US and Canada competitors.

Mexico has around 10 gold medals less than US, but with one third of the population, which is a remarkable number. Also, Mexico had a great performance in the 2019 Lima Panamerican Games, where Mexico was also in third place, very unique rank considering the entire tournament timeline. In fact, Mexico doubled the gold medals from the past competition. In this picture, we could see José Carlos Villarreal, in a surprising result, defeated the US and Canada competitors.

Why these results?, very simple, they didn't know barriers or obstacles, they were focused in what they want to reach, and this is the lesson to all of us, to focus in defeat our fears and transform them in strengths.
