Don’t want to launch to crickets?

Don’t want to launch to crickets?

Right now, I’m breaking a habit. It’s happening daily, in real time, and the experience has me buzzing with fresh energy and vivid possibilities.

The habit being broken is working in private.

In the past, I talked about projects, books, courses, programs, and products after I finished them.

Perhaps my education in Literature is partly to blame?

Regardless, none of us aspires to a flop, a product or business that launches to… crickets.

None of us wants to be the best-kept secret in our niche.

So how can we build better offers, products, and businesses and build an audience at the same time?

Want more of a good thing?

Most of us are protective of our inboxes. I get that. I'm an aggressive unsubscriber and custom-filter-setter-upper. (👈🏻 Legal title in the state of Tennessee.)

That said, if you benefit from reading this LinkedIn newsletter, you should definitely try out my regular newsletter (delivered with the help of my friends at Kit (formerly ConvertKit).

Each week, I share 3-5 of the best tools, tips, and terribly helpful things I've dug up during the week.

Short and sweet. Always on Fridays.

Give it a try.

About Austin L. Church

Hi, I'm Austin L. Church, a writer, marketing consultant, and business coach.

I started freelancing in 2009 after finishing my M.A. in Literature and getting laid off from a marketing agency. Freelancing led to a portfolio of mobile apps, tech startup, children's book, branding studio, and consulting practice.

Over the last 15 years, I've made north of $1.8 million as a creative entrepreneur, and looking back, I see so many missed opportunities.

That's why I'm so passionate about stacking up specific advantages and teaching freelancers, consultants, and creators how to do the same.

I want more of us to find our income-lifestyle sweet spot.

Decades out of the Literature lab, I’m still shedding ways of thinking that don’t make sense in the marketplace.

I definitely need to do more of this, Austin! 😉 As humans, (who want to be successful) we need to drop the fear of 'ridicule'. I try to remind myself daily... "Hey, you've screwed up WAY bigger things than this!" 😅

There requires such a level of vulnerability to build in public. The results are always the best though. I've been trying to share more about what I would like to do and see if people are interested as opposed to try to build something in private only for it to flop and have wasted a bunch of time.

Great stuff Austin. I have a bad habit of working on something without showing others and testing it. It's the exact opposite advice I give others too:)
