News & views for everyone in the publishing community.
Welcome to the second edition of The Download, the Digital Science newsletter dedicated to the publishing community.
It’s been a busy few weeks - here’s what’s been going on.
Digital Science announces new Open Guidelines
We have launched our Open Principles, a new initiative that commits our research information solutions to open science now and into the future. They are a new step in Digital Science’s journey to align more closely with the recently announced Barcelona Declaration on Open Research Information and are a concrete articulation of our long-held, core vision of a trusted, frictionless, collaborative research ecosystem.
ACS pilots Writefull Revise
After successfully integrating four of Writefull’s API services into their production workflow, The American Chemical Society (ACS) has started a pilot of Writefull Revise, a pre-submission language service for authors. ACS is trialling this solution as a way to support their authors, with the goal to reduce language barriers to publication.
Publisher Day was a huge success!
We held our annual Publisher Day just before the London Book Fair, which focused on the theme ‘The Road Ahead.’ The event had product updates for Dimensions, Altmetric, Figshare, and Writefull, as well as keynotes and lively panel discussions on topics impacting the wider publishing landscape, including the SDGs, open access, and AI.
