What Dussera Teaches Us ?
In spite of wealth, strength, power and blessings from god Shiva, Ravana was killed by Lord ram, because for good to prevail in the society evil had to die.
- Don't Underestimate Anyone. Ravana performed penance to Brahma and acquired boon that he could be killed by anyone except a human. Because, he thought, humans were not powerful enough to fight with him. Apparently, he was wrong.
- LISTEN When someone advises, at least care to listen. Following that advise is secondary. We know how Ravana cutoff Vibhishana's words when he tried to advise him.
- Know When to Stop Kill the ego when you can't fight anymore. Ravana abducted Sita. Rama waged a war against him. He constructed a bridge upto Lanka. He killed all the warriors from Ravan's side. His brother Kumbhakarna was killed. His sons were killed. His ministers were killed. Even then he wouldn't release Sita. This led to his own destruction finally.
- Repent to Your Mistake Even after knowing that he made a mistake by kidnapping Sita, he wouldn't apologise to Rama because it hurt his ego. He would have saved his life if he did so.
- Do Not Blindly Follow What Your Elder’s Tell I would quote this with example of Bharat, younger brother of Lord Ram, whereby if he had followed his mother’ (Rani Kaikey) advice, So trust your values & instinct. Thumb Rule in Life is to always “Follow the right values, blindly.”
Have a great festival with your family , friends & society !
